After spending the past 18 years helping build and lead the indirect tax technology practices at two of the Big 4 firms, I’ve experienced just about every flavor of project out there, from the multi-year global enterprise wide programs to stand alone Tax driven initiatives. During this time the tax space has evolved tremendously from a technology perspective, providing clients with more solution options and reducing the total cost of ownership. Meanwhile the approach to project management has shifted to leaner, more agile delivery methodologies geared towards rapid deployment.

Yet even with these advances meant to simplify and expedite implementations, I still hear clients express frustrations similar to those from 15 years ago - Projects take too long, cost too much and are overly complex...

In my experience, the common denominator to many of these frustrations can often be traced back to the machine of a big firm delivery approach. So I’m excited to step away from that culture and introduce JKelly Consulting, my solution to the machine.
